The boys won their group stage and went on to beat Woodlands 1 - 0 in the quarter finals,

They all worked very hard, despite the heavy rain.  Well done boys!

Football Report
St Mark's took part in the Salisbury 5 A-Side-Football Tournament on Thursday 21st May, 2009, held at Broadchalke.
With 34 teams entered from 20 different schools in the area there was a lot of tough opposition.
We entered two teams, an A and a B, who were both successful in reaching the last 16, when the competition
entered the knock-out phase.
Unfortunately, our teams were drawn to play each other, St Mark's B winning with a couple of excellent goals.
Our B team continued on to the final after a tense penalty shoot out against the favourites, Harnham.
In the final St Mark's won 2-0, to be overall winners.
Congratulations to both teams on a great performance and even more so for their exemplary behaviour
throughout the day, which made it a joyous occasion for all.

Girls Football Results
Mammoth congratulations to the Girls’ Football Squad for their performance in the annual tournament
held at Broadchalke on 3rd June 2009.  We took three teams with us, all of whom played their socks off
in blistering heat and burning sun.  All the girls performed very well, and actually improved as the day wore on.
C Team (Yrs 3 and 4) held their own when they were moved into the top group to replace a team who had dropped out,
and actually drew one game and won another!  B Team performed well in the quarter finals and just missed the semis,
and A Team won the Tournament in the best public performance I have seen from them all season! Group hug to everyone, including the amazing Mr. Neal for his faithful coaching and encouragement throughout the year, and to Mrs. Rayner,
our star supporter and general wonderwoman! Many thanks, also, to all the support from parents during the day.
