FRIDAY 18th FEBRUARY - SCHOOL CLOSED DUE TO STORM EUNICE

Due to severe weather warnings that have now escalated since yesterday we have taken a site assessment and further risk assessment this morning we have now taken the difficult decision to shut all the schools in the Somerset Road Education Trust today.

In making this decision we have taken into account:

• The updated weather forecast
• The increased level of risk and the likelihood of danger to life that could be caused by these conditions and the risk to students, families and staff in accessing the site
• The latest guidance from the local authority advising all schools to close
• The exposed nature of the site

This has not been an easy decision to make, but this one will allow us to ensure that all children and their families, and our staff teams safe in what are dangerous and unpredictable conditions. We would like to thank you for your understanding, and hope that you have a safe and enjoyable half-term, looking forward to seeing you back in school on Monday 28th February 2022.
