Welcome!

Welcome to The Friends of St Mark's otherwise known as FOSM. FOSM is the Parent, Teacher and Friends Association for St Mark's, a group of people who help to organise events for the school and wider community, both fundraising and social. FOSM is a registered charity (No. 1041853) with the object of the association to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by:

  • Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.
  • Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

We are very fortunate to have a thriving PTFA that has been an integral part of the school community for many years. All parents and teachers are automatically members of the PTFA with an elected committee to run events and manage PTFA business.

Shelter and Shade - 2022 Project

We have reached a fantastic £10,500 towards the proposed new Shelter/Shade in the Playground. Thanks to your support we have raised £8500 through the 20.22 Challenge. A big thanks to a parent who organised a £2000 donation from Richard Griffiths & Co Solicitors, we are very grateful.

In summer 2022 we purchased with a grant from Groundworks, two movable large umbrellas which will provide shelter on the upper playground (Y5/6 entrance) and can be moved for events such as sports day. These will complement the additional structure that will be purchased with the staggering amount raised in 2022.

How can you help?

Consider joining the committee – a committee is formed every September/October at our AGM. Please come along or join our WhatsApp group. Don’t have much time? Don’t worry, you can offer as much or as little time that is possible. Help at events or behind the scenes is always welcome, just 30 minutes makes a massive difference.

Become a Class Rep and help us spread information with regards to FOSM and the school community through a class WhatsApp group. We aim to have two parents per class to spread the job. If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch.

Match funding – does the company you work for run a match funding scheme? – please let us know.

Donate items that support our fundraising e.g. raffle prizes, tombola prizes and even unwanted clothes into the clothing bin.

Support our events! We do this all for our children.

All assistance is appreciated! To get involved please contact us via email, approach one of the committee members in the playground or come to one of the meetings. Any fresh ideas are always welcome!
